Ethical principles and Anti-Plagiarism

Articles published in RGP,  Gaceta de Pedagogía are subject to compliance with the ethical principles contained in the different declarations and legislations on intellectual property and copyright in the international field. For this reason, researchers or authors/articulators of contributions accepted for publication must download and sign the Affidavit of Authorship and the Declaration of Commitment.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors of articles submitted to RGP certify that the work is original and unpublished. They also confirm the authenticity of the data and that they have not been altered.
  • The author must not publish articles in which the same results are repeated in more than one scientific journal or other academic or other publication.
  • The author must always provide the correct indication of the sources and contributions mentioned in the article.
  • The author must declare that he/she has not incurred in academic or scientific fraud, plagiarism or authorship vices.
  • The author must guarantee that all the data and references of the materials published therein are duly identified with their respective credit and included in the bibliographical notes and in the citations that are highlighted as such and, in the cases that so require. That it has the due authorisation of the person(s) who own(s) the patrimonial rights, and likewise exonerates the journal, the editorial staff, the editor and the coordinator from any responsibility.
  • All authors are required to declare explicitly that there are no conflicts of interest that may have influenced the results obtained or the interpretations proposed. Authors must also indicate any agency and/or project funding from which the research article arises.
  • When an author identifies an error in his/her article, he/she should immediately inform the journal editors and provide all information necessary to make the appropriate corrections.
  • Responsibility for the content of articles published in RGP, Gaceta de Pedagogía, is the sole responsibility of the authors.

Agreements with Reviewers

  • Double-blind peer review is a procedure that helps editors to make decisions about proposed articles and also allows the author to improve the quality of articles submitted for publication.
  • Each assigned manuscript must be treated as confidential. Therefore, these texts should not be discussed with others without the express consent of the editors. Contestable.
  • Double-blind peer review must be conducted in an objective manner. Reviewers are obliged to give sufficient reasons for each of their assessments, always using the evaluation instrument. Reviewers will provide a critical report especially if the paper is proposed for rejection. They are obliged to warn the editors if substantial parts of the paper have already been published or are under review for another publication.
  • Reviewers should be alert to any possible plagiarism within the paper. If any plagiarism is found, it should be reported and the evaluation of the manuscript should be suspended, as this will safeguard the integrity of RGP. The reviewer is urged to submit his or her observations within the body of the article, making sure that the referee's name does not appear in any of the corrections sections (new commentary in word).
  • The reviewers undertake to indicate precisely the bibliographical references of fundamental works possibly forgotten by the author.
  • To ensure that the review process is as objective, impartial and transparent as possible, the identity of authors is suppressed before papers are sent for double-blind peer review. If for any reason the identity of the authors, their institutional affiliations or any other information that jeopardises the anonymity of the paper has been compromised, the reviewer must immediately notify the editors.

 

ANTI-PLAGIARISM

All articles submitted for review in the journal GACETA DE PEDAGOGÍA are inspected by an anti-plagiarism policy that ensures the originality of the articles, or whose citations are duly identified by the author(s). To this end, the texts are analysed using the service designed for this purpose in search of coincidences of texts and information, which guarantees respect for authorship.

Journal GACETA DE PEDAGOGÍA, as a publication that seeks excellence nationally and internationally, is covered by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) code of ethics, aimed at editors, reviewers and authors.

The Editorial Board, Evaluators, Reviewers and Writers have a set of specific tools to detect plagiarism, such as: Grammarly, Plagium, Plagarisma.net, and Artificial Intelligences that can be found on the web.

The Editorial Board will only accept two (2) self-citations or self-referencing of the authors in the text of the article submitted. If more than the required number of self-citations or self-references are detected, a communication will be sent to the author(s) and they will be asked to submit a new version.
