THE MEMORY REVEALED BY SHROUD OF TURIN IN THE CITY OF HERETICS BY FEDERICO ANDAHAZI

Abstract

The purpose of the present analysis was to dismantle The City of Heretics by Federico Andahazi, from the perspective of memory that recreates history in literature. From the theoretical point of view the study was based on the theory managed by Bergson (2006) Memory and Matter, as well as the theoretical elements proposed by Ricoeur (1999) in The reading of the past time: Memory, History, Forgetting, Tzvetan Todorov (2000) Memory abuse, and finally the theoretical contributions of Hayden White with The Fiction of Narrative: Essays on History, Literature, and Theory and The Content of the Form: Narrative Discourse and Historical Representation. The theory and authors mentioned above allowed guided the study and it was concluded that Literature lets think to narrative texts through the identification and location of aspects own history from vision of a discursive memory that recreates the past.
