Abstract

Colombian education is going through a period of profound transformations that involve curricular changes, accelerated digitalization processes, the effects of the COVID- 19 pandemic, and the emergence of new pedagogies aimed at responding to the demands of the twenty-first century. This set of phenomena has substantially reconfigured the scenarios in which teachers develop their practice, generating complex experiences, identity tensions, and profound resignifications of their professional work. National and international education policy has recognized the centrality of the role of teachers in achieving sustainable transformations, which gives renewed relevance to the study of the subjective experiences of this actor. In this sense, this documentary article needs to provide knowledge on the subject, hence the question arises: How do Colombian teachers configure their professional identity and subjectivity when experiencing contemporary educational transformations? It assumes as a general objective to reflect on the lived experience of Colombian teachers in the face of contemporary educational changes. This review adopted a phenomenological hermeneutical approach, inspired by the approaches of Heidegger (1927/2015), classic author of phenomenology, which allows us to approach the meanings that these actors construct around their professional identity, their tensions and their possibilities of agency. As a main finding, it is specified that the teaching experience in contexts of transformation cannot be understood without attending to the subjective and intersubjective dimension that constitutes it, since it is at the level of the home where educational changes acquire meaning, resistance or appropriation. Therefore, it concludes that knowledge of these experiences is essential for the design of more relevant and humanized educational policies that place the teacher not as an object of reform, but as an active subject of transformation.
