Teacher training, political subject and graphic novelAbstract
This essay analyzes the influence of graphic novels on teacher training, understanding teachers as political subjects. In a constantly evolving educational context, teachers are required not only to master the content of their disciplines but also to possess a deep understanding of their labor, professional, and human rights. Graphic novels emerge as an aesthetic, didactic, and political tool that facilitates the understanding of complex themes through the integration of image and text. Their use allows for addressing issues such as social justice, civic engagement, professional identity, and the defense of collective and individual rights. Through a documentary analysis of key authors in the study of comics and graphic novels, as well as theoretical reflections on teacher training and critical pedagogy, this essay proposes that graphic novels can become a key training resource for enhancing teachers' critical awareness, strengthening multimodal reading skills, fostering dialogue, and promoting educational practices that recognize the dignity and political role of teachers.
