The main objective of this study is to analyze the symbolic elements of Freemasonry in the poem “Ode to the Architect” by César Dávila Andrade. This research is supported with the works of authors such as Cirlot (1995), Ariza (2007) and Bachelard (2003). The qualitative approach and documentary research methodologies were used; additionally the hermeneutic method was applied in order to carry out the process of interpretation of the poem chosen. As a result, it was possible to evidence a symbolic load that leads to an interpretation from Masonic beliefs. This allowed us to conclude that the Masonic symbols present in César Dávila Andrade's poem are intended to honor the Great Architect of the Universe, —the Masonic name for God—, as well as to connect the being with his spiritual center and with the divine in order to reach transcendence, which is one of the most important Masonic principles.
