Body, strong injury. Revaluation of the work of María Calcaño

Being a woman and a writer, during the first half of the 20th century in Venezuela, already brought with it the responsibility of both building a discourse which would distance itself from the one already established and giving a voice to those who did not have one. In that attempt, María Calcaño dared to speak about the body. This triggered the disapproval of some and the legitimization of others. Today, there are still those who condemn her discursive strategy since it does not obey the canonical principles of the "good poem". Thisstudy aims atrevaluating her work considering its thematic nucleus: eroticism. For the interpretation of the selected corpus, the philosophical and anthropological positions of Paz (1994), Bataille (1970, 1981, 1994 and 2005), Lo Duca (2000), Fisher (1994), Dussel (2013) were reviewed. Once the interpretation of Calcaño's work is finished, the author of this research reflects on a variety of erotic topics with which she declares the multiplicity of the feminine.
