Abstract

This essay focuses on Connectivism as a central axis, a learning theory that seeks to respond to the demands of the digital age. It originates from the question: How is the process of adapting Connectivism to the educational realities of Latin America experienced? A documentary review was conducted in renowned academic databases such as Redalyc (Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal), Dialnet (platform for the dissemination of scientific production in the Hispanic sphere), and Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online). The analysis included publications published between 2022 and 2025. Key elements were identified to ensure the effective implementation of Connectivism in Latin America, not only in contexts with high connectivity. The review also gathered critical perspectives on the actual benefits of this theory in areas such as student autonomy, knowledge acquisition, and competency development. In conclusion, this documentary review reaffirms the importance of promoting a Latin American connective pedagogy, capable of integrating technology, autonomy, and metacognition to transform educational processes and respond critically and inclusively to the challenges of the digital era.
