Abstract

This article presents a critical reading of the pedagogical proposal known as Secuencias Rítmicas Corporales (SRC), formulated by Colombian musician and educator Agudelo Díaz del Castillo. Through the analysis of the handbook that condenses this proposal, the study identifies the methodological principles that underpin it, as well as its didactic procedures, its approach based on body percussion and traditional Colombian rhythms, and finally, its implications for early music education in school contexts. The text positively values the use of the body as a foundation for rhythmic learning from the perspective of traditional music and dance, the articulation of onomatopoeias as a phonetic-musical resource, and the role of imitation as a way of internalizing rhythmic patterns. However, significant limitations are also noted, such as the absence of bibliographic references, the limited musical and pedagogical contextualization of the sequences, and the lack of systematization in the presentation of some concepts. The analysis is based on specialized Spanish-language literature on music education, body percussion, neuromotricity, and the teaching of traditional musics, with the aim of offering criteria for the improvement and rigorous evaluation of this proposal.
