Abstract

Education in Colombia has undergone significant changes over the last decade regarding pedagogical practices. These changes involve the use of new methodologies, approaches, and strategies that have led to improvements in teaching and learning. A prime example is Project-Based Learning (PBL), a methodology that has stood out for providing students with the necessary tools for knowledge construction, thus generating intrinsic learning. This article presents a systematic review of PBL as a motivational strategy for junior high school students. The review analyzed five scientifically relevant articles published in accredited journals over the past five years. The aim was to contrast and examine the author's opinions to form an independent judgment on Project-Based Learning in junior high education. Based on this, it was determined that Project-Based Learning is an innovative methodology widely accepted in the educational field, capable of fostering meaningful learning through interaction with students' contexts.
