This essay analyzes digital fatigue as an emerging problem in secondary school students, especially those learning English as a foreign language. Recent studies show how overuse of digital technologies, social media and virtual platforms relate to language anxiety, poor academic performance, perfectionism, and cognitive burnout. It reflects on the effects of misusing digital tools in language acquisition and suggests pedagogical strategies to mitigate these impacts. The findings confirm the need for a balanced use of ICT with a focus on mental health and meaningful learning.
