CRITICISM OF THE PARTICIPATION OF ADULTS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

Abstract

The research addresses the Social Representations (SR) of participation in early childhood from the perspective of adult caregivers during the pandemic, focusing on the virtual artistic experience "Intergalactic Travel " of the Nidos art program in early childhood. With a qualitative and interpretative hermeneutic approach, tools such as associative letters, unaddressed interviews and participant observation were used. The results revealed that the SR of caregivers directly affect parenting practices, promoting rules such as "learning to have an opinion", but limiting children's autonomy when directing their actions. A gap was evident between the normative "duty to be" and the ethical internalization of children's rights. The findings highlight the need for public policies that transcend the regulations to promote genuine child participation, proposing the creation of a Ministry of the Family in Colombia. The methodology combined theoretical and practical analysis, highlighting play and art as transformative tools. The conclusions emphasize that the change must originate in adults, modifying their R$ to guarantee authentic child participation, beyond what is reflected in rules. The research emphasizes the urgency of addressing these problems from a systemic and collaborative approach.
